ELECTRONIC SEIKILOS SOCIAL ACTION
This project intends to promote Greek artists and feature the contemporary Greek electronic scene. USM aspires to highlight the research for electronic music, in an attempt to study and present sounds and melodies, composed by known- or not- artists. Simultaneously, this action will function as a stimulus for younger artists who want to come in touch with electronic music.
The first compilation is comprised by 12 tracks, by 12 Greek artists, and it will be accompanied by audiovisual material, documentary, workshops as well as interviews by the artists.
The name of the project is inspired by the ancient Greek synthesis of the track “Seikilos epitaph”, which is saved till nowdays. It is an hymn whose lyrics suggest an exceptional stand towards life.
Distribution
The collection is available via the Bandcamp platform in digital form, on limited digipack & vinyl form (T.B.A.).
Earnings / Goal
Our goal is to offer the earnings from the sales of the compilation, for the purchase of synthesizers, drum machines and other electronic music equipment, which will be gifted to Schools & non-profit charitable organizations all over Greece, in an attempt to bring young children closer to the electronic sound and improvisation. The complete idea will be executed under total transparency, supervision and participation by the artists themselves.
Η ανεξάρτητη ηλεκτρονική πλατφόρμα για την ηλεκτρονική μουσική USM, δημιουργεί σε συνεργασία με έλληνες καλλιτέχνες το project “Electronic Seikilos”, με στόχο την προώθηση των Ελλήνων δημιουργών και την ανάδειξη της σύγχρονης ελληνικής ηλεκτρονικής σκηνής. Ένα διαδραστικό project το οποίο θα αποτελέσει σταθμό για την νέα γενιά καλλιτεχνών.
Το USM φιλοδοξεί να δώσει έμφαση στην έρευνα του πεδίου της ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής θέλοντας να μελετήσει και να παρουσιάσει ήχους & μελωδίες τις οποίες έχουν συνθέσει αναγνωρισμένοι και μή καλλιτέχνες. Παράλληλα μια σειρά δράσεων θα δώσει ερεθίσματα και άμεση προσφορά στους νέους που θέλουν να έρθουν σε επαφή με την ηλεκτρονική μουσική.
Η πρώτη ψηφιακή συλλογή αποτελείται από 12 κομμάτια, 12 διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένων ελλήνων δημιουργών και την μουσική συλλογή θα πλαισιώσουν οπτικοακουστικό υλικό, ντοκιμαντέρ, συνεντεύξεις των καλλιτεχνών, εκπαιδευτικά εργαστήρια & εκδηλώσεις.
Το όνομα της συλλογής είναι εμπνευσμένο από την αρχαία ελληνική σύνθεση του κομματιού “ο Επιτάφιος του Σείκιλου” που σώζετε μέχρι σήμερα. Ένας ύμνος του οποίου οι στίχοι αποτελούν στάση ζωής.
Διάθεση Συλλογής
Η διάθεση της συλλογής γίνεται μέσα από την πλατφόρμα του Bandcamp σε ψηφιακή μορφή, σε digipack & συλλεκτικό βινύλιο (Θα ανακοινωθεί ημερομηνία).
Έσοδα / Στόχος
Στόχος μας είναι τα έσοδα από τις πωλήσεις να διατεθούν για την αγορά εξοπλισμού ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής (synth, drum machines κ.α.) τα οποία θα δωριστούν σε σχολεία & κοινωφελή ιδρύματα ανά την Ελλάδα, φέρνοντας τα νέα παιδιά κοντά στον ψηφιακό ήχο και στον αυτοσχεδιασμό. Η όλη διαδικασία θα γίνει με απόλυτη διαφάνεια, εποπτεία και συμμετοχή των ίδιων των καλλιτεχνών.

Electronic Seikilos is a non profit social action to bring children closer to electronic sound and to broaden their horizons. We believe that Electronic Seikilos will become an inspiration to push the children towards to music production.
The team of Reborn Festival, Lemnos supports Electronic Seikilos cause and this August they will offer the music compilation during the festival.
